Role Overview

The DevOps Manager will implement, support and harmonize DevOps processes across the DevOps teams. The DevOps Manager role is heavily hand on, ensuring the platform remains available and secure at all times. You will be working closely with the other team leads to sustain and support the standards that are currently in place with regards to quality, deployment and testing.

Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Required

  • Experience with large scale deployments (high availability, scalability, resilience, API security) with proven understanding of PDLC and SDLC
  • Active participation in operations strategy and implementation driving quality and efficiency including best practices & metrics for system operations
  • To ensure appropriate measurement and reporting of service performance, usage and availability is in place in order to analyse the trends to identify and prioritize improvements
  • Implementing DevOps tools and life cycle on responsible services
  • Responsible for ensuring the vision and implementation of CI that effectively ensure project visibility, and report against delivery metrics.
  • Ensure the DevOps teams are adequately managing of high and critical priority incidents in production
  • Ensure high quality of solutions, security, performance and operational requirements are met
  • Identify opportunities for automation and architecture simplification
  • Deploy automate, and maintain cloud-based solutions
  • Lead and execute effort to integration DevOps on the services that are using cloud platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban or Lean) and standard Agile engineering practices (BDD, TDD, CI, peer reviews, refactoring)Good knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Solid experience with CI and CD: GitLab, TeamCity, Jenkins, CodeDeploy, Spinnaker
  • Build & Test: Maven, SonarQube, JUnit, Code Coverage, Artifactory, SmartBear
  • Networking & Deployment: VPC, NGiNX, R53, TerraForm, Ansible, Helm
  • Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, GKE, Rancher
  • Storage & Search: iSCSI/FC, NFS, S3, EBS, CloudStorage, ElasticSearch, ElasticCache
  • Security & Monitoring: IAM, CloudTrail, Hashicorp Vault, KMS, CloudWatch, DataDog, Prometheus, Zabbix, ELK, PaperTrail, Splunk
  • Database: PostgreSQL, MySQL, RDS, Cloud SQL, NoSQL
  • Public Cloud & CDN: AWS, GCP, Azure, Akamai, CloudFront, Incapsula, CloudFlare
  • A plus if you have an ISC2 certification

Other skills and knowledge

  • The successful DevOps Manager will mentor and coach the expanding team of DevOps Engineers to maintain the existing collaborative environment and extremely successful output.
